2020 Topeka Juneteenth Schedule of Events

The 2020 Covid pandemic changed our plans. We had a caravan parade instead of our usual celebration. We also partnered with the library to get videos of local members of our community discussing Juneteenth.

So far this year, we have been involved in a host of efforts to help our community. We are participating in food distribution with Harvesters.

January 25th @6pm via Zoom, we will begin a Lecture Series entitled Dual America, Then and Now. It will surround current events in America and along with our past experience.

In February, we are planning a virtual town hall for the youth of Topeka to discuss the effects of Covid in their lives we call Sankofa Roundtable.

In April, we are planning a visit from 94-year-old, Ms. Opal Lee, who is campaigning around the country to make Juneteenth a national holiday. See more on our National Juneteenth Campaign page.

We welcome you to join with us for an intimate look into our community. If you would like to join us, email us for a link to Zoom at info@tffjc.org.
