Topeka Juneteenth Mission
Topeka Family and Friends Juneteenth Celebration has an annual event that brings the community together celebrating the Emancipation Proclamation. We hold events throughout the year to provide toys for the needy for Christmas. This includes an annual Valentine’s Day Party for a local daycare and an annual Christmas party for the less fortunate.
The specific objectives and purpose of this organization shall be:
- to provide the community the opportunity to learn what Juneteenth means and to learn about how it all began;
- to bring the community together to focus on local community needs;
- to provide opportunities to engage in recreational and teaching activities;
- to learn about African American history and culture.
